I created this site to not only support the work which I have published, but also to provide fun recipes, cool websites, and recommended novels. My goal is for you to find interesting items other than what I am doing. I hope it will become a great place for you to check out and see what is new.

This month I have gone with a theme for my recommended reading. As Nefarious Notions is the first book in the Wood’s Farm Mysteries series I choose two books which are the first in a series. The first is By Book or by Crook by Eva Gates. The stories of this series take place on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and Eva brings much of the beauty of the area through in her book. This one I have a sentimental connection. I only recently have moved home to the Toronto, Ontario area after living in North Carolina for the last thirteen years. It was difficult to leave such a beautiful state, but I am a Torontonian, and it was always calling me home.

The second book, Safe Harbor by Rosemary McCracken is also the first in a series. It is based in Toronto, and what better way to say hello to the city of my birth then read a mystery based there. This mystery is more of a main stream one, while By Book or by Crook is of the cozy persuasion. Like Eva, Rosemary brings the city to life for me. I hope you try them out, they are both well worth the read.

This month I have two recipes from Mrs. Wood’s Kitchen. Both appear in my book Nefarious Notions. The first you will see just below this message, the second you can find in the EXTRAS section at the top of the site. Each month I will endeavor to convince Mrs. Wood’s to send me another one. You will have noticed I have a McTavish’s Pick section. Each month I will be posting a great site to find new books to read, or interesting articles about mysteries. For this month I have put up the link for the Crime Writers of Canada website which I became a member upon my return to Canada. Here you will find new book releases, public readings, CWC events, and a catalogue of the different authors to browse in the Books section.
